The NetLock Ltd. is the first qualified Certificate Authority in Hungary. As the first authentication centre of the public key infrastructure and the technology adapted for proving the origin of electronic documents, it plays an important role in operating the infrastructure, establishing rules of procedure of key importance for certificate handling and their adoption in the Hungarian legal and cultural environment.

Besides the introduction and supervision of the necessary procedures, its experts carry out the technological development, establishment and operation of the infrastructure. In addition to establishing the total public key infrastructure of small and medium sized enterprises, its technology is suitable for building even nationwide systems, as well.

As the first Certificate Authority of the Hungarian Public Key Infrastructure, it deals with the installation and continuous support of transaction encrypting tools for using the certificates in secure communication, development of whole ready systems and their completion with intelligent cards.

The NetLock Ltd. developed into an independent organisation in October 1996.
